Directions

1.) Core and seed the apple. Then in a high speed blender, blend the ingredients until smooth and adding a dash of water if needed to help start the blending process. (Or to save time at the expense of some freshness, you can also start with store-bought, organic apple sauce.)
3.) Spread the mixture relatively thinly on a food dehydrator sheet. Then dehydrate for 6-8 hours at 100° F (38° C), flip the fruit leather on the dehydrator sheet when it’s dry enough to be ‘flippable’ and finishing drying on just the mesh tray for another 1-3 hours until moist enough to be flexible, but not wet. The honey will naturally help it remain flexible. But if it turns out too thin or crispy, next time try spreading it a little thicker, dehydrate for less time, or use a bit more honey. Fruit leather is actually one of the hardest things to dehydrate and may take a couple batches of practice before it comes out just right. But is so worth it to have something sweet on the go or on the way home from the gym.
4.) Roll up in parchment paper and stored in a sealed bag.
